South Gloucestershire and Stroud (SGS) College is the largest post-16 provider in the Greater Gloucestershire Area.
Over 4000 16-19 year olds have access to 150+ academic and vocational courses at three main campuses in Stroud, Gloucestershire and at Filton and Stoke Gifford within South Gloucestershire. SGS are planning to develop a fourth campus at the former nuclear laboratories at Berkeley in Gloucestershire specialising in Engineering, Construction and Technology.
Ofsted rated the College's Leadership and Management as Outstanding in 2014, and the specialist staffing and well-resourced back-office support teams provide all our sponsored schools access to a wide variety of services at a fraction of the cost of providing them locally, saving money which is then reinvested to support teaching and learning.
SGS formed the SGS Academy Trust in 2014 to support primary, secondary and special schools in the greater Gloucestershire area who feel that their school needs to benefit from efficiencies of scale gained by working with the College. All schools in the Trust will have access to the physical, human and intellectual support available from the College.
