LOCATION: France

About the Event

We are offering students in Years 7-10 and Year 11 GCSE French students the opportunity of joining us on a five day educational visit to the Opal Coast in France during the Easter

holidays (11th to 15th April 2019.)

The main focus of the trip will be French culture and language immersion however we will Also look at local historical sites and architecture linking into the art curriculum.

We will be staying just outside Bolougne at an old watermill. We will be accompanied by a French speaking guide at all times who will encourage your child to speak French

throughout the visit.

During this visit students will visit:

  • Vimy Ridge where your child will walk through WW1 trenches and visit the large war memorial there
  • A local war cemetery to pay our respect
  • A snail farm (to sample the local delicacy if they wish) and a local sweet factory
  • Bolougne castle, cathedral and fishing port
  • Nausicca Sealife Centre
  • Bellewaerde theme park in Belgium.

Students will also have the opportunity to try sandyachting on Bolougne beach if they wish.

We have been advised that we should be able to travel under a group passport which means your child will not need an individual passport for this visit (however this may change with Brexit and we will notify you if this is the case.)

The total cost of the trip is £400 which includes all travel, insurance, accommodation, activities, entertainment, and food (except whilst travelling). If you would like to book a place for your child on this visit please book through Parentpay.  As always, school reserves the right to remove a student from the trip if they have poor behaviour and/or attendance records and refund any payments as necessary.

Payment can be made via ParentPay in instalments of:

£50 by 19 October 2018

£75 by 31 October 2018

£100 by 30 November 2018

£50 by 31 December 2018

£125 by 31 January 2019
