We are all aware that growing up can be tough and that children and young people have a lot of challenges to face. The emotional wellbeing of children and young people has a significant impact on all areas of their lives including academic achievement and their relationships with friends and family.
With the help of young people, Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group has created a website http://www.onyourmindglos.nhs.uk/ to help young people in Gloucestershire to cope with life’s ups and downs and get help when they need it. The website was developed as part of Gloucestershire’s Future In Mind 5 Year plan in response to young people and their families, who said that they really needed more information and advice about mental health.
The website signposts to local services, provides some initial self-help advice and directs young people to trusted national websites and helplines. Gloucestershire County Council’s Ambassadors for Vulnerable Children and Young People have also created this video https://youtu.be/PBhx2JceJJI to raise awareness of the importance of talking about mental health.
